Generally an easy kit to assemble. All of the spokes on the wheels made it difficult to paint with a brush and lost 1 brush due to the bristles being bent out of shape going in between the spokes. Making the boiler sit level on the chassis was a difficult task but eventually it sat square.

A time extensive kit to build as it has a lot of parts to paint and put together. Most parts were big and were easy enough to stick together but attaching the cab to the base was tricky as there wasn't a lot of room to align the rods to stick down.

The only problem had was with the transfers, some of them had excess 'clear' bits and didn't sit properly. PVA glue sorted it.

Comments

This project was quite a lengthy one. As it is skill level 5 it will require the builder to have skill and lots of patience to complete the model.

There is a lot of waiting with this model as it uses many colours and the colours need to be done on the same thing for the different coats and different things to paint. Only one problem I found was when attaching the doors, the hinges are very fragile and break easily.

This model kit is a fairly simple kit to make providing you can work on the skill level required.

There is a lot of waiting with this model as it uses many colours and the colours need to be done on the same thing for the different coats and different things to paint.

However there was an error in the instruction manual that make it all confusing and make you think you will have to disassemble.

Step 40: On this step it says that step 38 needs to be connected to step 31 and the spike has to be in a downward direction. This is incorrect. If 'Step 36' was followed correctly the spike will face up and this is the correct way up and it fits into the hole on 'Part number 7' when parts '38' and '31' are connected.
